Becoming Activated Overview

In this program, you will learn a set of unique tools, frameworks, and practices necessary to make sense of our current moment and create stories that activate better futures. In order to succeed in the new world, we have to let go of the old stories of separation and extraction and embrace the new stories of collaboration and unity. We need to learn to stand in the new story by creating hopeful narratives where our culture, our businesses, and our society are addressing some of our greatest challenges. It starts with you and your ability to show up and be part of the solution. At the moment, we have lost all grand narratives about progress and what our purpose might be. We don’t have a unified story as humanity about our collective future, and we all have a responsibility to weave one together. Enter Activated Storytelling. As marketers, being an activated storyteller is a moral obligation, not a passing trend. Activated Storytelling is a personal practice and a framework for developing better narratives for our society. To become an activated storyteller, you need to activate yourself, so the first part of the course focuses on learning sense-making tools, neurohacks and practices that upgrade your Operating System so you can recognize your purpose and fully show up to create and generate these much-needed stories in your organization. In the second part of the course, we dive deeper into archetypes, mythology, meaning-making, and stories beyond the hero’s journey (an outdated archetype). We learn practical ways of applying these meta-stories to our daily lives and our work whether, in original entertainment, marketing or any other area with story plays a key role. You will gain clarity and purpose that will empower you and your org to make the right choices in this critical time of transition (the space between stories).
